SAMUEL ROJAS
I am the asphalt albumin mirror of the timeless being that dwells within me.
Who is Samuel Rojas
Samuel Rojas Espinosa (1959). With studies in Graphic Design, he inscribes his experience in the composition of typographic spaces, the application and superposition of color in printing systems (offset).
His abstraction, with its expressionist and constructivist character, presents a pure state, exploring emptiness and fullness (space – would kill). He feels the rhythms of the intervals, the gesture of the stroke and the stain. He captures the reflection of opposites that naturally attract each other; the image enters into the constant of the "communicating mirror game."
Experience the chroma that the force of light exerts on color. Apply layer upon layer in constant glazes, embracing the material that reveals its sensitive passion within it.
His time in Oaxaca (1995-2018) allowed him to work outside his comfort zone, where realities and imagery flow through different vortices. His focus was on being an artist congruent with himself and his artistic vision. He eschewed clichés, grounding his formats in mixtures of oil, cochineal, earth pigments, and paper, relying on technique and craftsmanship.

Rojas finds himself in complete creative freedom, establishing a bridge between artist and spectator. A product of his inner world and external reality.
